Position: Donor Relations Assistant Location: Ferdinand, IN Job Id: 305-2026 # of Openings: 1 Job Title: Donor Relations AssistantDepartment: Mission Advancement Reports To: Donor Relations and Stewardship Manager Exempt/Non-Exempt Status: This position shall be non-exempt from overtime as defined under the Department of Labor’s 2004 revised Fair Labor Standards Act. Overview: This on-site position at the Sisters of St. Benedict monastery in Ferdinand, Indiana, is a vital part of the Mission Advancement team, being responsible for providing exceptional customer service to donors, processing gift acknowledgment letters, data hygiene and assisting with gift entry. Basic Function: Create and coordinate the mailing of gift acknowledgments, provide excellent customer service to donors, coordinate in-house mailings, and assist with daily gift deposit and gift entry processes. Responsible for updating the Mission Advancement database. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Provides excellent customer service to donors via multiple avenues including phone, email, and written letters. Updates the Mission Advancement database. Prepares, reviews, and mails acknowledgment letters (first class and third class). Coordinates mailing inserts. Prepares and mails birthday cards and Communication Preferences Surveys. Utilizes USPS address accelerator. Prepares data exchange lists and tracks exchange lists for acquisition. Coordinates new donor packets. Supports gift entry, as needed. Assists with processing daily gifts and preparing deposits for business office. Aids with the lockbox deposit and prepares for gift entry. Contributes to the annual budget and expense reports. Additional Duties and Responsibilities: Supports membership programs. Assists with adding and updating donors in database. Performs other duties as assigned. Knowledge Requirements: Requires strong written and verbal communication skills, mid-high level Microsoft Excel and Word efficiency, strong attention to detail, ability to learn other roles to serve as a backup for other team members, for analysis and interpretation of procedures, policies, and practices (attainable through specific education and/or training programs). Experience with Blackbaud or similar Customer Relationship Management (CRM) database is a plus. Education and Experience: Requires advanced computer skills (proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word), a basic knowledge of technology, and basic accounting skills. A bachelor's degree or certification/licensing in a technical specialty program is preferred, or equivalent experience of 18 months to 3 years may be substituted. Physical Demands: Job is physically comfortable; individual is normally seated and has discretion about walking, standing, etc. Position occasionally requires the ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
