Welding Sales Specialist

At Airgas, we are looking for a Welding Sales Specialist. As a Subject Matter Specialist, you will align high-level welding engineering with operational excellence. You will visit internal field plants and external client sites to evaluate existing welding processes, identify bottlenecks, suggest safer techniques, and propose advanced technologies that enhance efficiency and safety.

Your responsibilities will include evaluating customer welding/cutting practices, conducting weld surveys and efficiency analyses, and recommending meaningful improvements. You will advance the Airgas Advanced Fabrication Sales Methodology to contribute to the growth of capital equipment, robotics, and automation solutions. You will provide knowledgeable support and sharing of expertise on CNC cutting systems, robotic welding systems, and plasma/laser integration. You will act as a mentor to the wider Welding Specialist team, providing onsite product and application training for customers to help upskill their workforce and foster development. You will coordinate the installation and servicing of fixed and robotic automation projects, ensuring alignment across all stakeholders. You will collect and report on market trends, industry activities, and customer needs to keep Airgas as a trusted reference and leader in the industry.

Required qualifications include a bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent years of formalized welding experience, five or more years in B2B or specialized sales, and reliable transportation. Preferred qualifications include a welding engineering degree, exposure to technical sales or a consultative background, and certifications such as Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) and membership within professional organizations.
