We are looking for a Staff Accountant to join a manufacturing organization in Colorado. This contract opportunity has the potential to become permanent and is ideal for an accounting specialist who enjoys balancing day-to-day financial operations with tax-related responsibilities. The role will support core accounting activities, maintain accurate records, and contribute to timely compliance reporting across the business.

Responsibilities:
• Prepare and record journal entries to support accurate monthly and year-end financial reporting.
• Maintain the general ledger by reviewing account activity, researching discrepancies, and ensuring balances are properly supported.
• Assist with corporate tax processes, including gathering documentation and contributing to the preparation of corporate tax return filings.
• Manage sales tax activities by reviewing transactional data, supporting filings, and helping maintain compliance with applicable requirements.
• Reconcile key balance sheet and income statement accounts and resolve variances in a timely manner.
• Partner with internal teams to collect financial information, improve reporting accuracy, and support accounting deadlines.
• Organize accounting records and schedules to support audits, tax reviews, and internal financial controls.• Experience in staff accounting or a similar accounting role within a detail-focused business environment.
• Working knowledge of general ledger maintenance, account reconciliations, and journal entry preparation.
• Familiarity with corporate tax concepts, including support for corporate tax return preparation.
• Hands-on experience with sales tax reporting and related compliance activities.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple deadlines with accuracy.
• Proficiency with accounting systems and spreadsheet tools used for financial analysis and reporting.
