CashierQualifications: High School diploma or equivalent. Equivalent combination of education and training considered. Must have basic computer skills. Basic mathematical knowledge and ability to add, subtract and count money. Must possess good interpersonal and oral communication skills. Able to obtain Food Handlers Certification within 30 days of employment and every 3 years thereafter. Able to lift 20 pounds.Reports To: Nutrition & Dining Services Manager. Supervisor: Director of Nutrition & Dining Services.Job Goal: Engage and actively support a positive Nutrition & Dining Services culture. Contributing daily amongst your team to assist in proper meal counting, meeting USDA and Illinois Board of Education guidelines. Understanding the importance of your individual role and consistently being a positive role model for our students.Performance Responsibilities:Accurately enters all student and district staff food purchases and payments;Receives money for all food sales, prepares daily deposit and completes daily batch out and daily purchase report for designated building;Maintains & submits the daily cash count deposit sheet;Ensure NDS cash handling & storage procedures are followed;Assists in various areas of the kitchen as needed;Sets up daily condiments and milk as needed;Ensures condiment stations are maintained and kept clean and free of debris during each lunch period;Assists with maintaining cleanliness of milk coolers and storage areas;Performs other Nutrition & Dining Services related duties as assigned.Terms of Employment: Nine Months (174-180 Days) Classified position with salary and hours to be established by the Board of Education.Evaluation: Performance will be evaluated annually in accordance with the provisions established by the Board of Education.Salary Range: In accordance with the USW (United Steelworkers) Negotiated Agreement.This job description has been reviewed and is in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act.
