Provide electrical systems design services for electrical systems connected to systems operated and managed by Ever-Green Energy, as well as other systems supported by Ever-Green Energy under direct supervision and instruction of the Sr. Electrical Engineer, other engineers, and the Design Services Manager. Utilizing a basic understanding of Electrical, Mechanical, Civil and Structural Engineering, as well as Architectural construction practices, the Electrical Designer plays a key role in the successful execution of electrical and mechanical projects. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Design Services, this individual will provide technical engineering services contributing to the successful delivery of work to internal and external clients.

The designer will be part of the System Development Group (SDG) which provides engineering, design, and planning services for the various systems that Ever-Green Energy supports. The SDG is a multi-disciplinary group of engineers and designers working together in a dynamic team environment through proactive and collaborative working environment. The Designer will support the SDG teams by providing high quality deliverables and support that meet critical parameters and expectations that lead to high customer and client satisfaction.

Minimum requirements to be successful in this role:

• Associates degree in Applied Science or abbreviated A.A.S. in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering Technology, Electrical Construction Design & Management, Electrical Drafting & Estimating, or Power & Construction Engineering Technology.
• Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in electrical or mechanical design. 
• Experience in creating three dimensional (3D) models and designs using Revit, or other relevant software.
• Strong ability with Autodesk applications to provide analysis of systems and produce engineering plan drawings.
• Software Proficiency

1. Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit software packages.
2. Proficiency with SKM Power Tools or similar electrical modeling software.

• Technical Skills

1. Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical engineering principles and practices.
2. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
3. Knowledge of design and drafting standards.
4. Ability to perform calculations related to electrical systems design.

• Other

1. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
2. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
3. Ability to work with MS Office Suite software, including Word and Excel.
4. Familiar with PDF editing, markup, and compilation using Bluebeam or similar PDF editors.

6. Motivated, self-starter who can perform design work under direct supervision and oversight.
7. Flexibility and adaptability to work effectively with a diverse set of individuals within and outside of the organization.

Preferred requirements:

• Working knowledge of electrical specifications and codes (e.g. Electrical Code NEC, NFPA standards, NFPA 70E, Building Code, Fire Code).
• Process plant, piping, controls, or HVAC system design background from conceptual design to layout.
• Familiarity with other design software (e.g. ArcGIS, AGI32, PVWatts, Visual Lighting).
• Past experience and/or academic focus in thermal/industrial systems, utilities, and campus systems.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Provide electrical or mechanical design services for central plant and customer buildings’ systems design and maintenance projects of low to medium complexity under the direct supervision of the electrical engineer or mechanical engineer, manager, and/or project manager.
   1. Prepare BIM/CAD drawings using 3D design software, including project layout, plan and detail drawings for new construction projects and plant or building maintenance projects.
   2. Assist in bid document preparation, including figures, detail drawings, or other associated documents.
   3. Utilizes BIM/CAD Standards of the organization.
   4. Receives reviews of drawings for quality and accuracy from colleagues.

1. Assist with the electrical design of district energy plant power systems, including: power distribution systems, sizing motor feeders, ground fault, emergency generators, UPS, etc.

1. Perform electrical power system studies using SKM Power Tools (electrical modeling software) with the assistance of the electrical engineer for:
   1. Electrical data validation and entry
   2. Voltage drop calculations
   3. Short-circuit calculations
   4. Over-current protective device selective coordination
   5. Arc fault hazard analysis

1. Performs electrical Autodesk Revit 3D construction modeling software, including:
   1. Maintaining adherence to naming conventions and modeling standards
   2. Performing electrical discipline clash checks before interdisciplinary reviews
   3. Managing worksets, links, and file management within Revit models, and
   4. Editing Revit schedules, Revit one-line diagrams and details

1. Prepares engineering documents to meet contracted scope of work and to ensure application of electrical design principles.

1. Support other Ever-Green Energy System Development team projects as necessary to meet project needs under direct supervision of the project manager and/or project engineer.

1. Additional responsibilities may include:
   1. Coordinate Revit model setup, including shared coordinates, levels, and grids
   2. Edit Revit families for specific project applications

1. Complete other tasks as assigned by supervisor.

The employee occasionally is required to climb ladders/ropes/scaffolding ; crawling; crouching, far visual acuity of vision at 20 feet or more; kneeling; lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs.; reaching at/below shoulder level by extending hand and arms from 0 up to 150 degrees in a vertical arc; reaching overhead by extending hands and arms in a 150 to 180 degrees vertical arc; stooping; and confined space with limited entry or exit.

Must be capable of maneuvering throughout industrial facilities such as energy plants and building HVAC mechanical rooms, etc.

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The employee works the majority of their time in an office environment; however, may be required to perform some duties in steam or chilled water plants. While performing these duties, the employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, risk of electrical shock, dust, fumes, high pressure steam, and high temperatures, and hazards associated with moving machines. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. Personal Protective Equipment will be provided to the employee as needed.

We are committed to providing salary ranges for all open positions. Please note that the specific compensation for this role will be determined based on your experience, qualifications, location, and internal equity considerations.

The salary range for this position is: $81,375 to $90,825.

This range reflects the base salary for this position.
