Essen Health Care Cleaner / Environmental Services Associate

The Cleaner / Environmental Services Associate is responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, and safe environment throughout Essen Health Care facilities. This role plays a critical part in infection control and patient satisfaction by ensuring all clinical and non-clinical areas meet healthcare cleanliness standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Clean and disinfect exam rooms, offices, waiting areas, restrooms, and common spaces
• Follow established infection control and safety protocols
• Properly handle and dispose of medical and non-medical waste
• Refill supplies such as soap, paper towels, and sanitizers
• Operate cleaning equipment and use approved cleaning products safely
• Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, or supply shortages
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all patient care areas
• Support terminal cleaning and deep cleaning as needed

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Previous cleaning or environmental services experience (healthcare preferred)
• Knowledge of proper cleaning chemicals and infection control practices
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong attention to detail and reliability
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs
