Field Operations Manager – Asphalt & Sitework

We are looking for an Operations Manager to oversee our asphalt paving and sitework crews. This position is responsible for leading employees, maintaining productivity, ensuring quality workmanship, and fostering a culture of safety and accountability.

The ideal candidate understands that great leadership starts with understanding the work. While previous asphalt or construction experience is a plus, it is not required. We are willing to invest in the right manager who has proven leadership experience, a strong work ethic, and a genuine desire to learn our business from the ground up.

Responsibilities

• Manage and support field crews to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and with high-quality workmanship.
• Coach employees through regular feedback, performance evaluations, and on-the-job development.
• Monitor productivity, quality, attendance, and job performance.
• Work with foremen and crew leaders to solve problems and keep projects on schedule.
• Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
• Ensure company policies and safety procedures are followed.
• Assist with employee development, hiring, and training.
• Communicate effectively with employees, customers, and company leadership.
• Visit job sites regularly to observe operations, identify opportunities for improvement, and support crews.

Qualifications

• Previous management or supervisory experience is required.
• Construction, paving, or heavy equipment experience is preferred but not required.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to coach employees, address performance issues, and build trust with crews.
• Valid driver's license and the ability to travel between job sites.
