The work
The Deputy Release Manager plays a key role in overseeing the end‑to‑end release management lifecycle for SAP and enterprise software initiatives. This role coordinates with cross‑functional teams to plan, schedule, and control releases while ensuring alignment with Agile methodologies and iterative development cycles. The Deputy Release Manager is responsible for maintaining release schedules, tracking progress, managing risks, and ensuring that all deployment activities follow established best practices. The position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to support large‑scale software deployments in fast‑paced environments. Experience with release management tools, SAP systems, and change‑management processes is highly beneficial.
Key responsibilities:
Oversee and coordinate the end‑to‑end release lifecycle for SAP projects and related initiatives
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to plan, schedule, and execute software releases in an Agile environment
Ensure release deliverables are completed on time and meet quality standards
Identify, manage, and mitigate release‑related risks and issues
Maintain detailed release documentation and communicate status updates to stakeholders and leadership
Support continuous improvement of release processes, tools, and governance practices
Facilitate communication and alignment between technical teams, business stakeholders, and leadership
Work closely with the Release Manager to ensure all release activities align with organizational goals
Here’s what you need:
Experience supporting release management or coordinating software deployments in enterprise environments
Familiarity with Agile principles and iterative development cycles
Experience with release management or work‑tracking tools (Jira, ServiceNow, MS Project, Gantt charts, etc.)
Ability to manage concurrent tasks, track milestones, and ensure on‑time delivery
Experience working with SAP systems or ERP landscapes (preferred but not required)
Nice to have:
Experience supporting large‑scale SAP initiatives or enterprise deployments
Exposure to CI/CD pipelines, DevOps concepts, or automated release processes
Familiarity with change‑management frameworks and processes
Background in risk management or release governance
Eligibility requirements:

Ability to obtain a client Public Trust government clearance
As required by local law, Accenture Federal Services provides reasonable ranges of compensation for hired roles based on labor costs in the states of California, Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Washington, Vermont, the District of Columbia, and the city of Cleveland . The base pay range for this position in these locations is shown below. Compensation for roles at Accenture Federal Services varies depending on a wide array of factors, including but not limited to office location, role, skill set, and level of experience.
