ABOUT MAST ROOFING & CONSTRUCTION We are a faith-based, family-run, full-service residential and light commercial roofing and construction company. For over 28 years, we have built an exceptional reputation by caring for our clients and delivering quality workmanship. We rely on expert training, technology, and industry experience to provide excellent service and results. Our mission is simple: To honor God by serving those around us with excellence. We are serious about being honest with our clients, each other, and ourselves - always. We value our employees and their families and encourage personal growth, skill development, and leadership. We are looking for someone who leads by example, coaches others, communicates respectfully, and strengthens a culture of ownership and accountability. A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A PRODUCTION MANAGER You connect the sold scope of work to successful execution in the field. You review projects, verify scope and material needs, coordinate crews and subcontractors, and adjust schedules as conditions change. You stay close to job costs, production progress, and quality so that work is completed safely, on time, and at the budgeted gross margin. Your day includes field visits, practical problem-solving, coaching, and clear communication with clients, sales, and leadership. You also keep fleet maintenance, warehouse inventory, training, and administrative updates on track. You are comfortable working through technical details yourself, making timely decisions, and holding the team accountable without losing sight of the client experience. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Own production results against budgeted revenue and gross margin goals; monitor labor, materials, subcontractor costs, and project progress to address delays, waste, and margin shortfalls.
• Schedule and coordinate employees, subcontractors, tools, rentals, and materials to complete projects efficiently, on budget, and on time.
• Review every project for scope accuracy within 24-48 hours of receipt and coordinate necessary material orders and tool rentals within 48 hours.
• Lead, coach, and hold production crews and subcontractors accountable for workmanship, productivity, punctuality, professionalism, and company Core Values.
• Conduct 3-5 job site visits each week to verify progress, quality, safety, and compliance with company procedures; resolve field challenges promptly.
• Lead an exceptional client experience and maintain an average quality score of at least 9/10 through PulseM or an equivalent feedback system. Encourage reviews and referrals.
• Ensure clients receive daily project progress or time-and-material updates. Contact clients within 24 hours of receiving a complaint and execute a solution within 48 hours.
• Maintain accurate daily CRM records, project documentation, expenses, receipts, and inventory records. Update client communications promptly and ensure required signatures and payments are obtained.
• Coordinate with sales, office staff, suppliers, subcontractors, and leadership to clarify expectations, prevent handoff gaps, and keep projects moving.
• Develop and maintain onboarding plans, technical training, and standard operating procedures for production employees and subcontractors; support sales training on scope accuracy and new products.
• Use training platforms, technology, and appropriate AI tools to organize procedures and make practical job knowledge accessible to the team.
• Manage fleet and equipment maintenance, repairs, and inspections. Schedule maintenance or breakdown response within 24 hours of notice and maintain current records.
• Keep the warehouse stocked, organized, and inventoried; oversee monthly and annual truck and warehouse inventory checks, tool procurement, and material purchasing plans.
• Maintain clean, professional vehicles, work areas, and warehouse grounds; enforce proper tool storage, debris removal, disposal procedures, and company apparel standards.
• Lead weekly field safety and job review meetings; enforce OSHA and company safe work practices, including safe access, ladder use, and fall protection.
• Promptly report serious injuries, accidents, damage, liability or warranty concerns, fraud, theft, and serious Core Value breaches to leadership. Obtain required approval for new tools and equipment.
• Report directly to the COO. Attend prepared weekly production and accountability meetings, communicate the upcoming schedule and plan, and provide timely updates on results and issues. QUALIFICATIONS FOR A PRODUCTION MANAGER
• Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience and 5 years of experience in roofing or construction.
• Strong technical knowledge of roofing and construction methods, materials, scopes of work, and quality standards; residential and light commercial experience preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to plan work, coordinate crews and subcontractors, manage job costs, and deliver projects against schedule and profitability goals.
• Proven coaching and mentoring skills, including the ability to develop less experienced team members and address performance concerns clearly and respectfully.
• Strong attention to detail, analytical problem-solving, and independent judgment; a commitment to technical mastery and accurate execution.
• Ability to manage shifting priorities and multiple projects with urgency while consistently following established processes and safety standards.
• Clear verbal and written communication, professional client service, and dependable follow-through.
• Comfort using CRM systems, digital job documentation, spreadsheets, inventory tools, fleet management systems, and training platforms.
