The VA Medical Center in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, is actively looking for a full-time, board-certified or board-eligible Cardiologist to become part of our team. In this role, you will be responsible for treating and managing patients with conditions related to General Cardiology and various Supplemental Cardiac procedures. Your comprehensive care will encompass diagnosis, treatment, follow-up, and patient education regarding cardiac health.

Your clinical duties will include:

• Diagnosing and managing patients referred for cardiac disorders, including:
• Core Cardiology Procedures:
  • Cardiac stress testing
  • Cardioversion
  • Echocardiogram interpretation
  • Holter monitor interpretation
  • Emergency pericardiocentesis
  • Temporary transvenous pacemaker placement
  • Tilt table testing
  • Administration of thrombolytic agents
  • Final interpretation of EKGs
  • Fluoroscopy
• Supplemental Cardiology Procedures:
  • Transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) with interpretation
  • TEE with cardioversion
  • Nuclear cardiology studies
  • Coronary CTA
  • Management of Gp IIb/IIIa, vasoactive, and thrombolytic agents

The Cardiologist (Non-Invasive) will play a crucial role in the Wilkes-Barre VA Healthcare System, providing both outpatient and inpatient consultative services.

• U.S. Citizenship (Non-citizens may only be appointed when qualified citizens cannot be recruited, per VA Policy)
• Full, unrestricted Licensure, Certification, or Registration in any U.S. State
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Cardiology

Office hours are from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with on-call duties as necessary.

• Recruitment Incentive (Sign-on Bonus): This may be provided as a lump sum upon starting or distributed annually over a period of up to four years.
