Psych Emergency Clinician Therapist Supervisor Nights Location: Inova 8095 - Fairfax East (On-site) Full time, night shift 10:00 pm – 6:30 am. Five 8‑hour shifts (Thursday shift is evening for leader coordination and planning 2:00 pm – 10:30 pm). Job Description Inova Fairfax Hospital is looking for a dedicated Psych Emergency Clinician Supervisor to join the team. This role will be full‑time, night shift from 10:00 pm – 6:30 am. The position has five 8‑hour shifts (Thursday shift is evening for leader coordination and planning 2:00 pm – 10:30 pm). The Psych Emergency Clinician Supervisor provides direct/indirect clinical supervision to central access clinicians to enhance their individual clinical skills and the quality of services to patients. Develops goals and manages fiscal activities of the department. Responsibilities include oversight of daily operations related to clinical evaluations and administrative functions, procedures and protocols. Supervises administrative operations including scheduling/registration, and direct patient care. Works collaboratively with physicians, therapists and other team members of the behavioral health team to effect timely, appropriate patient care management. Collaborates with other department leaders, providers and team members both within Inova and external agencies to help support the care and disposition of patients. Minimum Qualifications Certification – Basic Life Support upon start, CPI in‑person training for non‑violent crisis intervention, receive CPI blue card within 6 months of hire. After 9/1/25, Vistelar replaces CPI for new and renewed de‑escalation certifications. Approved Clinical Supervisor within 3 months – completion of Board mandated continuing education in clinical supervision. Licensure – Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Clinical Psychologist (LCP), or Licensed Substance Abuse Professional (LSATP). Experience – 5 years of experience, 3 of which are post‑licensure, working in the psychiatric or mental health field with the seriously mentally ill. Education – Master’s degree, PhD, PsyD, Psychology, Social work/counseling/Behavioral Science and Health. Preferred Qualifications Previous work in a critical care or emergency setting.
