Job Title: Staff RN Profession: Nursing Specialty: Med-surg Adult Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 7pm - 7:30am Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year License: Valid license to practice in the Client Certifications: CPR required Must-Have: Previous Registered Nursing experience preferred Description: The registered nurse assesses, plans, implements, evaluates, and supervises individual patient care using the nursing process. Accepts responsibility for the direction of co-workers and delegation of role-appropriate tasks in the implementation of care. Performs all duties and responsibilities in accordance with established policies, procedures, and guidelines. Education: Completion of an accredited nursing program resulting in a Diploma in Nursing, Associate degree in Nursing (ADN), or Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN). Job-related Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to problem-solve and facilitate resolution to issues. Demonstrates the ability to handle multiple priorities. Essential Job Functions: Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care for each patient according to the nursing process. Provides quality care based on assessment needs and the established plan of care. Educates patients and families during the discharge process. Documents the nursing process thoroughly, concisely, accurately, and legibly. Notifies the physician of pertinent observations and changes in patient status. Administers medications and performs treatments accurately and safely. Implements physician orders as written. Ensures equipment and supplies are readily available for patient care and reports malfunctions as needed. Physical Capacity Demand: Heavy Work: Exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Psychological/Mental: Requires ability to regulate emotions and exercise self-control. Must manage urgent situations calmly. Ability to communicate empathically and demonstrate genuine care for patients. Displays confidence and assertiveness in interpersonal situations. May experience stress related to time management and working with individuals in distress. Cognitive: Requires intact cognitive function in attention, memory, perception, and thought.
