About the Role

The general pulmonologist will provide comprehensive outpatient and inpatient pulmonary care, managing a broad spectrum of respiratory conditions while collaborating closely with primary care providers, hospitalists, specialists, and care teams throughout the health system.

Clinical Responsibilities

• Develop efficient workflows and close relationships with referrals and community partners to continue to grow the Incidental Nodule and Lung Cancer Screening Programs
• Proficient and experienced in robotic bronchoscopy, endobronchial ultrasound and ultrasound-guided thoracentesis and chest tube placement
• Interpret diagnostic testing, including laboratory studies, imaging, pulmonary function test
• Diagnose, treat, and manage a wide range of pulmonary disorders, including COPD, asthma, pleural effusions, sarcoid, lung nodules etc.
• Educate patients and families regarding diagnosis, treatment options, medication management, and lifestyle modifications.
• Collaborate with primary care providers, specialists, and multidisciplinary care teams to ensure coordinated patient care
• Document high-quality, compliant clinical notes in the EMR and support clinic access, throughput, and patient experience
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to improve outcomes (e.g., lung cancer screening rates, timeliness to diagnosis and treatment)
• Participate in practice call coverage and practice meetings as required

Required Qualifications

• Board certified or board-eligible in pulmonary medicine
• Active Maryland physician medical license (or ability to obtain)
• Current DEA license and Maryland controlled dangerous substance (CDS) license
• Current BLS certification (American Heart Association or approved provider)
• Unrestricted medical license with no history of suspension or revocation
• Eligible for participation with all payers
