Summary

The Control Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing industrial control systems and automation equipment. This role ensures reliable operation of PLCs, instrumentation, sensors, and control networks to support a safe and efficient production process. Responsibilities Key Responsibilities: Install, configure, and maintain PLC, HMI and SCADA systems.Troubleshoot and repair electrical, instrumentation, and control systemsPerform preventative and predictive maintenance on control equipmentCalibrate and maintain field instruments (pressure, flow, temperature, level)Analyze systems faults and implement corrective actionsSupport continuous improvement and automation projectsRead and Interpret electrical drawings, P&IDs, and control schematicsWork with maintenance and operations team to minimize downtimeEnsure compliance with safety standards and regulations (e.g. OSHA)Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance and systems changesSoftware, Platforms & ToolsPLC Programming SoftwareRockwell Automation (Studio 5000 / RSLogix 5000)Siemens - optionalHMI / SCADA PlatformsIgnition SCADA (Inductive Automation) - visualization, alarming, reporting and database integrationFactory Talk View / Factory Talk SE & MEIndustrial Networking & CommunicationEthernet/IP, Modbus (RTU/TCP), Profibus, ProfinetNetwork troubleshooting tools (wireshark, RSLinx)FIIX CMMS PM or similar platformsDrives & Motion SoftwareData & Diagnosis ToolsIgnition Tag Historian and report modulesTrend and diagnostics tools for process analysisAdditional toolsCalibration software and handheld communicators (HART, Field Communicator)Laptop-based diagnostic and programming tools Requirements
Associate degree or technical certification in Electrical Engineering Technology, Automation, or related field is nice to have. Manager will look at candidates with additional work experience in liu of degree
5+ years of experience working with industrial control systemsStrong knowledge of the following:PLCs (Allen-Bradley)Motor control systems and VFDsIndustrial networks (ethernet/IP, Modbus, Profibus)Ability to trouble shoot electrical and instrumentation systemsFamiliarity with safety practices such as LOTO and arc flash is nice to have. Candidate will be trained on both.
