Position Summary - This recruitment will be used to fill four part-time (a maximum of 24 hours per week) JumpstART Night RA for the School ofVPDA at Oregon State University (OSU). JumpstART is a one week residential camp at Oregon State University for +/-fifty high school students. The program blends studio art classes, visiting artist lectures, and evening activities. The Residential staff will be employed for a one week period, Sunday, June 21-Friday, June 26. This includes mandatory training on Sunday, June 21th, and any other times as determined by the camp director.

Position Duties - Residential Assistant's (RA) primary charge is to provide supervision for participants and ensure their safety and well-being. Night Shift RAs supervise participants during the night when campers are asleep in the dorms, in the morning when campers are getting ready and at breakfast. Shifts are generally midnight-9am. RAs are expected to assist with pre-session planning and preparation and post session clean up, participate in staff meetings, and lead and organize social and recreational activities for participants. RA's are expected to serve as leaders, disciplinarians and role models throughout the program. RA's are available to the participants and staff during all assigned hours of duty.

Minimum Qualifications - Full Employment Eligibility Requirements can be found here: Must be academically enrolled in a high school, community college, or university and pursuing a program or course of study Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment Must meet the applicable minimal enrollment standard High School student: Regularly enrolled in a high school or participating in a home-schooling program Undergraduate and post-baccalaureate student: 6 credit hours per term Undergraduate international student: 12 credit hours per term Graduate student officially admitted to Graduate School: 5 credit hours per term Graduate international student officially admitted to Graduate School: 9 credit hours per term International students may be allowed to carry fewer hours than specified above and still be considered "full-time" by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). A reduced course load is approved by the Office of International Services (OIS), and must be provided to the Student Employment Center.

Additional Required Qualifications - Be a current full time OSU student or degree partnership student with OSU Maintain good academic and conduct standing at OSU Successfully pass a Criminal History Check upon hire. Demonstrate the ability to cultivate relationships with people who have different experiences or perspectives. Demonstrate the ability to engage with others who are different from you. Demonstrate the ability to learn about social justice principles and concepts. Demonstrate the ability to engage in difficult conversations or conflict. Demonstrate the ability to balance multiple priorities through effective time management.

Preferred (Special) Qualifications - Demonstrate understanding of social justice principles and concepts. Demonstrate engagement with diversity and social justice education, initiatives, and programs. Demonstrate crisis management skills.
