Asst Nurse Manager

Novant Health is seeking an Asst Nurse Manager to support nursing leadership within our Healthcare & Medical Services department. In this role, you will work closely with the Nurse Manager and clinical leadership team to ensure safe, high-quality, and patient-centered care across our nursing units. You will help coordinate daily operations, support staffing and scheduling, promote evidence-based practice, and foster a culture grounded in our mission of improving health through advanced technology and compassionate care.
As an Asst Nurse Manager, you will provide direct supervision and guidance to nursing staff, serving as a clinical resource and role model for best practices in patient care, infection prevention, and patient safety. You will assist in coaching, mentoring, and developing team members, participating in performance evaluations, onboarding, and ongoing competency development. You will collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure seamless care coordination, timely communication, and positive patient experiences.
This position plays a key role in sustaining Novant Health’s culture of diversity, safety, and personalized care. You will help monitor quality metrics, patient satisfaction results, and clinical outcomes, supporting initiatives that drive continuous improvement and regulatory compliance. You will participate in policy implementation, adherence to accreditation standards, and readiness for internal and external audits and surveys.
Operational responsibilities include assisting with staff scheduling and assignments, managing daily patient flow and bed placement in coordination with other departments, and supporting efficient use of resources and supplies. You will help address and resolve patient, family, and staff concerns in a timely, professional manner, escalating issues as appropriate. In collaboration with leadership, you will contribute to unit-based budgeting, staffing plans, and process improvement projects aimed at improving efficiency and patient outcomes.
