RN - Emergency Department (ER/ED)

Travelers should expect their assignments to include and may consist primarily of admitted patients. No RQI Certs accepted. NM license can pend at time of submission. Travel experience strongly preferred, however if traveler has 2+ years Level 1 Experience client may consider. 36 or 48 hour shifts. Approximately 60%-80% of the Emergency Department is admitted, and many of the ED rooms are "ED Holding". Level 1 trauma experience is preferred.

COVID Vaccine: optional - UNMH is required to report COVID vaccine numbers. Upload series or Aya declination. Must have TNCC before submission. NIH can pend until compliance doc due date before the traveler starts.

Currently seeing an increased number of admit holds. Medication administration, including IV medication via the seven medication rights; document and communicate clinical findings. Emergency Department Ratios: 1:5. Years of experience REQ: 2 years of experience required; will review for 1.5 years; Level I Trauma preferred. First-timers accepted: Yes but travel experience strongly preferred however if traveler has 2+ years Level 1 Experience client may consider.

Weekend REQ: Travelers will be scheduled for weekends as needed. Weekend days constitute Saturday and Sunday, weekend nights are considered Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Certs REQ: ACLS, BLS, NIH, PALS, TNCC. Is on-call REQ? No. Will clinician float within scope to meet facility needs? Floating to Peds ED is optional, Floating to Adult PCUs is an expectation based on staffing needs. Potential floating to ED Holding and Trauma DOE as well. Open to accommodating block schedule? No. Locals accepted: No locals within 100 miles. Pending License accepted: Yes.

RTO Restrictions: greater than 7 days needs approval. Guaranteed Hours: contracted hours (36/48/40) per week, facility is allowed to call off 3x throughout a 13-week assignment.

Parking Cost: No Fee. OT Rules: OT after 48 hours on all contract signed on or after 10/30/2025. New contracts and extensions must be at least 10 weeks. 6 month break is required for any travelers that have worked 4 consecutive assignments or reached their one year mark, whichever comes first.
