Training Program Manager

$110k - $135k

EBR Systems, Inc.

Apply Description

About EBR Systems

At EBR Systems, we're not imagining the future of cardiac care. We're building it. We are the team behind the world's first FDA-approved leadless left ventricular endocardial pacing device for heart failure. It's a breakthrough that's redefining what's possible, and it's just the beginning.

Based in Silicon Valley, we're advancing the WiSE System, a first-of-its-kind device in cardiac rhythm management. Your work here has a direct line to patients whose lives depend on what we build. We hire people who want to solve hard problems and who care about getting it right.

We invest in our people as much as our technology. Expect a collaborative, transparent culture, real career growth in a fast-moving startup, competitive compensation, equity, comprehensive benefits, and generous PTO.

If you want your work to matter, EBR is where you belong.

SUMMARY OF THE POSITION:

The Training Program Manager owns the processes, systems, and documentation standards that make training and competency management for the WiSE System therapy consistent, auditable, and scalable across both the field/commercial organization and physician education programs. This role is a recognized subject matter expert in training operations — driving continuous process improvement, administering the Learning Management System (LMS), standardizing certification and competency documentation, and ensuring training records meet quality system and regulatory requirements. The Training Program Manager partners closely with Training & Education leadership on field and physician program design, scheduling, vendor management, and reporting.

While this role is primarily focused on training operations, process design, and administration rather than direct field delivery, EBR Systems highly values candidates with clinical or technical experience in cardiac device therapy (e.g., Cardiac Rhythm Management, Electrophysiology, or Structural Heart). A clinical background enables the Training Program Manager to build more accurate, credible training content and to better evaluate the effectiveness of field and physician training programs.

ESSENTIAL AND OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITITES:

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Drive Training Process Improvement & Documentation Standards: Continuously evaluate and standardize training and competency-management processes — including curriculum development, certification pathways, and documentation practices — ensuring training records for the WiSE System program are consistent, audit-ready, and aligned with quality system requirements across field and physician programs.
  • Administer Training Systems & LMS: Own day-to-day administration of the Learning Management System (LMS) and other training systems, including course building, enrollment tracking, completion reporting, and troubleshooting, to support scalable digital and blended learning.
  • Manage Training Vendor & Program Operations: Own the training budget, calendar, and vendor relationships — including venues, faculty honoraria, simulation labs, and LMS platforms — ensuring high-quality, cost-effective delivery partners across both field and physician training operations.
  • Coordinate Physician Education & Proctoring Program Logistics: Plan and coordinate the scheduling, documentation, and logistics for physician training, case observation, and proctoring programs, including hands-on labs and structured educational sessions. Coordinate with key opinion leaders (KOLs) to support physician-to-physician education programs.
  • Develop & Maintain Training Materials and Certification Pathways: Contribute to the design, development, and continuous enhancement of training materials, curricula, and certification pathways that support the WiSE System training program, in alignment with the global educational strategy.
  • Track & Report Training Effectiveness: Maintain training metrics, certification completion rates, and trainee feedback data; prepare reporting and analysis that drive measurable improvements in learning outcomes and support audit and quality reviews.
  • Oversee Certification Administration for New Personnel: Manage the administrative process for onboarding and certifying new field operations personnel, Field Clinical Specialists (FCSs), and sales representatives, including tracking knowledge and skills assessments through to certification or remediation.
  • Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Partner with clinical, marketing, sales, regulatory, and quality teams to ensure consistent messaging, accurate product positioning, and the integration of new product launches into training initiatives. Act as a liaison between field teams, physician customers, and internal stakeholders to optimize training processes.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Mentor and provide guidance to Field Clinical Specialists and other training personnel to enhance technical and clinical competencies needed to support training activities.
  • Support Training & Education leadership in building scalable learning platforms, including LMS enhancements and digital training content.
  • Collaborate with medical affairs, regulatory, and quality teams to ensure training content and documentation comply with FDA and other relevant regulations.
  • Assist in planning and executing off-site physician education programs, hands-on cadaver labs, and key opinion leader (KOL) training events.
  • Provide field and physician insights to influence product development, clinical trial protocols, and future training strategies.
  • Represent the company at industry conferences, workshops, and professional education forums as needed.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

None

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Required Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in life sciences, biomedical engineering, nursing, or a related field (or equivalent clinical experience).
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in the medical device industry, in training operations, program/process management, or a related function.
  • Prior experience developing training curricula, certification pathways, and structured onboarding programs.
  • Hands-on experience administering or building courses within a Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Demonstrated experience developing training content across multiple formats (e-learning, video, live/virtual sessions) and managing training documentation for audit readiness.
  • Familiarity with FDA-regulated training materials, documentation requirements, and industry-standard educational practices, along with the compliance landscape governed by the Sunshine Act and AdvaMed Code.
  • Strong project/program management, organizational, and vendor-management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Clinical or technical experience supporting implantable cardiac procedures (e.g., cath lab or EP lab), or prior work within Cardiac Rhythm Management (CRM), Structural Heart (SH), Heart Failure, and/or Electrophysiology (EP) — strongly preferred to inform accurate, clinically credible training content.

Experience supporting commercial launches of novel implantable cardiac devices.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Process & Documentation Rigor: Skilled at designing, standardizing, and maintaining audit-ready training and competency documentation within a quality system framework.
  • Instructional Design & LMS Administration: Ability to design, build, and manage multi-modal learning solutions, including live labs, digital learning, and LMS-driven pathways.
  • Program & Vendor Management: Comfortable managing budgets, calendars, and vendor relationships to deliver cost-effective, high-quality training operations.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Excellent ability to work with sales, clinical, marketing, regulatory, and R&D teams to align training programs with business objectives.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication, presentation, and facilitation abilities.
  • Analytical Mindset: Comfortable developing training metrics and performance analytics to optimize program effectiveness.
  • Clinical/Technical Acumen (Preferred): Working understanding of cardiac pacing, intracardiac imaging, implant procedures, and cardiac device therapy strategies is a strong plus.
  • Adaptability: Thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with evolving priorities and new technology launches.

Physical Requirements

  • Willingness and ability to travel approximately 30–40% of the time, including occasional overnight travel.
  • Required to stand, walk, and sit; talk or hear; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects or controls; reach with hands and arms. Required to stoop, kneel, bend, crouch, and lift up to 50 pounds on occasion at training programs.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

Salary Range

$110,000 - $135,000*

*Base pay is one part of your total compensation. The salary offered will depend on several factors, including, but not limited to your experience, knowledge, skills, location, internal equity, and market alignment. Addition compensation may include bonuses and equity, along with a comprehensive benefits package.
