Position Summary

Ray’s Sport and Marine in Bemidji is looking for a Parts Counter Specialist to support our marine and Arctic Cat motorsports customers. This position is responsible for helping customers find the right parts, looking up parts and accessories, maintaining stocked shelves, supporting inventory accuracy, and helping keep the parts department organized and running smoothly.

The ideal candidate is customer-focused, detail-oriented, dependable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced dealership environment. Marine, powersports, or mechanical knowledge is preferred, but we are willing to train the right person who has a strong work ethic and a willingness to learn.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist retail customers, service technicians, and internal staff with parts lookups and parts sales.
• Look up and identify parts for boats, motors, trailers, and Arctic Cat motorsports units.
• Communicate clearly with customers in person, over the phone, and by email.
• Provide accurate pricing, availability, and ordering information.
• Pull parts for service repair orders and customer purchases.
• Stock shelves, organize displays, and keep the parts department clean and presentable.
• Help maintain proper stock levels by monitoring fast-moving items and communicating inventory needs.
• Receive, check in, and put away incoming parts and accessories.
• Assist with special orders, backorders, and customer follow-up.
• Help maintain accurate inventory counts and report discrepancies.
• Support seasonal parts needs, including boating season, winterization season, and motorsports demand.
• Work with service, sales, and other departments to support overall dealership operations.
• Follow company processes for parts sales, returns, ordering, and inventory control.
• Provide excellent customer service and represent Ray’s Sport and Marine professionally.

Qualifications

• Previous parts, dealership, marine, powersports, automotive, or mechanical experience preferred.
• Basic knowledge of boats, outboards, trailers, snowmobiles, ATVs, or side-by-sides is helpful.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to look up parts using online diagrams, manufacturer systems, and dealership software.
• Good attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to stay organized while handling multiple customer and internal requests.
• Comfortable using computers, point-of-sale systems, and parts catalogs.
• Ability to lift and move parts, boxes, and inventory as needed.
• Dependable, punctual, and willing to work as part of a team.
• Willingness to learn marine and Arctic Cat product lines.

Preferred Experience

• Marine dealership experience.
• Arctic Cat or powersports parts experience.
• Lightspeed EVO or other dealership management system experience.
• Inventory control or warehouse experience.
• Mechanical background or hands-on experience with boats, motors, trailers, snowmobiles, ATVs, or side-by-sides.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to lift, carry, and move parts and inventory.
• Ability to bend, reach, climb, and organize shelving.
• Ability to work in a dealership, parts counter, stockroom, and warehouse environment.

Schedule

This position may require some Saturdays and seasonal overtime during peak periods. Schedule may vary based on dealership needs and seasonal demand.
