Warehouse & Distribution Supervisor - Overnight Shift

POSITION SUMMARY The Warehouse & DC Supervisor is a key member of the warehouse operations team and is responsible for driving associate engagement, productivity, quality, accuracy, and safety in a specific area (inbound return orders, order picking, order sorting, or outbound/shipping). The role provides leadership and day‑to‑day direction to a team of numerous hourly associates and collaborates with peers in other departments to ensure all decisions align with overall site goals and objectives. Work Schedule: Sunday – Thursday, 11 PM – 7:30 AM JOB DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES Maintain a clean and safe working environment; ensure all equipment is functioning and associates have the tools they need. Supervise associates to pick merchandise, consolidate orders, pack orders, or ship packages to consumers and retail customers. Supervise secondary production functions such as returns, return‑to‑vendor processes, make‑ready/audit functions, and others. Implement optimal staffing mix during shifts in partnership with production/wave‑planning management. Monitor warehouse lines to ensure goods flow properly and communicate best practices to associates. Maintain accurate records of processed merchandise, shipments, gift packaging, tracking numbers, and associate productivity; prepare daily reports for management. Maintain high quality and productivity standards by providing continuous direction, training, and motivation to hourly associates. Coach and develop Warehouse leads in day‑to‑day motivation and support of hourly order processors. Ensure on‑time order processing and uphold service‑level promises to customers. Present problem analysis of operational issues to the inbound/outbound manager and recommend solutions. Be solution oriented and routinely recommend continuous improvement initiatives. Exercise autonomy to make operational decisions on the fly to keep the building plans on track. Assign work, meet completion dates, and enforce consistent application of organization policies. Plan and organize day‑to‑day operational activities in partnership with the Warehouse area. Communicate with, follow up, and support associates in a timely manner. Leverage facility systems to generate reports, understand trends, and execute plans for desired outcomes. Monitor hourly/daily reporting and escalated concerns when needed. Learn, understand, and regularly execute tasks related to software programs such as ERP and WMS. Follow established safety and security standards; coach and hold associates accountable. Perform special projects and other duties as assigned. EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or Business preferred (or equivalent industry experience). EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIREMENTS 3+ years of distribution experience, with at least 2+ years of supervisory experience preferred. Self‑starter with integrity, confidence, and ability to achieve challenging objectives with limited supervision. Open communicator across all management levels, customers, and vendors. Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and able to multi‑task in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment. Customer focused with strong data and analytical skills. Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office. Proven track record in planning and interest in continuous improvements. Results‑oriented problem solver who implements change. Potential to grow into higher‑responsibility positions based on performance. Supervisory/managerial skill set, aligning actions and plans to strategies, supporting a learning culture, and building motivated teams. Approximate pay range: $85,000 to $95,000. Final compensation may vary based on knowledge, skills, abilities, and location.
