Skillbridge Avionics Electronics Technician 1st Shift Onsite

Position Overview Title: Avionics Electronics Technician Location: Onsite Shift: Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM-2:30 PM (First Shift) Responsible for testing, troubleshooting, repair, and modification of electronic avionics equipment in an FAA regulated environment and in accordance with Collins Aerospace Workmanship and Quality Standards. Eligibility SkillBridge participants must meet the following requirements: Must be on Active‑Duty orders in the U.S. Armed Forces. Must be eligible to participate per DoD Instruction 1322.29. Must have completed all Transition Assistance Program (TAP) and transition requirements before start date. Must receive approval from Unit Commander or O4+ in chain of command. SkillBridge fellows are not compensated during the fellowship and continue to receive active duty military pay and benefits. Responsibilities Set up and operate precision test equipment for alignment, troubleshooting, and testing of electrical equipment and systems. Follow written procedures and demonstrate proper use of hand tools and measuring devices. Follow blueprints, guidelines, and/or diagrams to ensure product specifications and tolerance levels are met. Troubleshoot and test repair units. Align and adjust advanced electronic components on units being repaired to ensure proper functioning of electronic circuits, utilizing established calibration procedures. Utilize SAP and other MRO computer programs. Participate on project teams. Apply technical expertise in the evaluation, development, maintenance and use of complex products, devices, tests, or procedures under changing conditions where problem‑solving skills and judgment are required. Must be highly motivated and dedicated to exceeding customer expectations. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Utilize analytical skills and problem‑solving abilities. Successfully work as a team member supporting work completion in a fast‑paced environment. Conduct written and verbal communication with technicians, engineering, and leadership within the MRO. Responsible for a moderate level of planning. Safety Sensitive Position is considered safety sensitive in accordance with FAA guidelines. Candidate will be subject to drug and alcohol testing per FAA's regulation 14 CFR part 120, as well as 49 CFR part 40. Qualifications – Must Have High school diploma or AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience. Electronics background or education with 2+ years complementary work history in a manufacturing or service environment. Electronics maintenance industry experience or education required. Prior experience troubleshooting electronic equipment. Preferred Qualifications AAS degree in electronics and/or prior military experience. 2+ years experience with aviation electronic equipment repair or manufacturing. Experience reviewing CMM/SB documentation. Electronic maintenance industry experience. Testing/Troubleshooting experience.
