Training Boulder County Communications provides all the necessary training to prepare you for a career as an Emergency Communication Specialist. Our team is cross-trained in four key disciplines: Call-Taking, Law Enforcement Dispatching, Fire/EMS/Search & Rescue Dispatching, and our Data Channel, which supports law enforcement with intelligence and field operations. This training program, which typically takes one year to complete, equips specialists with the skills to operate complex computer systems and manage multiple responsibilities in a high-stress, highly technical environment. Qualifications Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent, the ability to multitask in fast-moving situations, and proficient typing skills of at least 40 words per minute.
