Head Coach - Women's Soccer Position Title: Head Coach – Women’s Soccer Campus: Cranford Department: Athletics Employment Type: Full‑time, Part‑time, Adjunct, Part Time Exempt or Non‑Exempt, Regular, Temporary, or Grant Responsibilities Recruit and maintain the appropriate number of student‑athletes to compete at the highest level within the sport. Foster an environment that supports and encourages each student‑athlete to graduate in a timely fashion. Develop and maintain a competitive win/loss record of at least .500 in your division and qualify the team for the Region XIX Tournament. Develop and maintain the skill, discipline, and integrity of the team during games and practice. Provide statistical reporting and public relations, including updating administration with scores and highlights after each game and keeping NJCAA Coaches’ Website pages up to date. Know and adhere to UCNJ athletic policies and protocol, and the eligibility requirements and rules and regulations of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA). Update and maintain student/athlete eligibility and work closely with student athletes, the Academic Advisor for student athletes, Coordinator of Student Advisement/Athletics, and faculty to ensure academic success. Attend Athletic Orientation and Coaches Council meetings. Conduct yourself and the team in a manner that reflects a positive image for the team and UCNJ, both on and off the playing arena. Drive the team van, maintaining a positive status on the authorized drivers list, following school van policy, notifying contacts if lost or late, and keeping the NJCAA website current. Distribute meal money for all road games, reconcile the dollars, and return any overage to the Athletic Department on a bi‑weekly basis. Plan all overnight trips, complete required paperwork before and after the trip, and ensure student athletes sign the overnight trip code of conduct as necessary. Maintain an active e‑mail address and complete all required statistical reports. Hire, fire, and supervise assistant coaching staff, following all legal and college regulations. Follow medical guidelines for injured athletes per ATC/Team physician. Maintain accurate records of actual time spent in all duties by completing and submitting bi‑monthly timesheets. Be present at all games and practices. Read, acknowledge, sign, and follow the NJCAA Coaching Principles, Coaching Creed, and the NJCAA Coaching Excellence Contract. Encourage athletes to attend select athletic events in support of other teams. Perform other functions as assigned by the Director of Athletics. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree required. Three (3) years of coaching experience preferred at the college level; coaching and/or playing experience required. Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Physical Demands and Work Environment Position involves both interior sedentary work and physical activity outside on the field in coaching and training situations with student athletes. Involves strenuous exercise of muscles used in stooping, bending, running, throwing, pitching, and batting. Work is performed indoors and/or outdoors in conditions including loud and constant noise; exposure to natural atmospheric conditions such as sun, rain, wind, and dust. Ability to occasionally lift, carry, and/or drag approximately 50 pounds. Travel is required. Salary $10,000 per contract.
