Project Specialist II - Network Planning & Design

Overview The Project Specialist II is responsible for delivering and maintaining the network and hardware for external events, partnering on internal event initiatives, and serving as the authoritative lead for telecom/IP network planning, design integrity, and OSS data governance within the Telecom Network Portal (TNP). The role blends deep technical expertise with OSS platform ownership, data governance, and mentorship of engineering teams. Responsibilities Drive client projects and events from inception to retrospective, managing schedules with minimal guidance. Gather event details and requirements from stakeholders, manage planning and execution, and own the communication cycle with requestors. Coordinate with event delivery contributors, internal resources, and third parties/vendors to ensure successful completion of event goals. Define project measurables, ensuring technical feasibility with all relevant stakeholders. Initiate updates, resolve issues, and identify process improvements for telecom/network designs. Explain 1st‑party platforms, troubleshoot hardware, and support team to define material flow and standard operating procedures. Generate metrics, communicate them to internal stakeholders, and manage booking, scheduling, and expense reporting for events/travel. Provide event support during busy periods, including unpacking/packing/transporting products, aiding delivery/shipment, and preparing devices for distribution (software updates, flashing, troubleshooting). Serve as final gatekeeper for engineering submissions, enforcing enterprise standards, and driving consistency in network modeling, design documentation, and system synchronization. Own NRP validation, enforce network design standards and data quality, and manage CI modeling, data integrity, and platform optimization across systems. Partner with engineers, architects, and product teams; mentor junior staff and influence design practices. Ensure accurate, production‑ready network data supporting planning and operations. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree (B.S./B.A.) from a four‑year college or university and 2–5 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 10+ years in telecom/network engineering, OSS platforms, or network operations. Strong knowledge of IP/MPLS, Ethernet, optical transport, and telecom infrastructure. Experience with OSS/network inventory tools such as Ericsson ENM, Nokia NSP, Oracle OSS, or Bentley. Deep understanding of configuration management, discovery/reconciliation, and ITIL practices. Proven ability to set standards, influence engineers, and drive process improvements. Experience in regulated/utility environments is a strong plus. Excellent communication skills, including writing, proofreading, and speaking, and ability to build productive internal and external relationships. Salary $66,120.00 – $104,400.00 USD (base pay only; additional compensation may be available based on eligibility).
