In conjunction with the Program Coordinator, this position will assist in the supervision and facilitate day-to day activities such as transportation and provide training of new Recovery Specialist staff. To help the clients have a positive and successful recovery by making sure the client understands his/her responsibilities in the program and giving guidance when needed

Pay: $19 - $22 Hourly
Shift: Full-Time, 1st shift

Responsibilities The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive.
Other duties may be required and assigned.
• Assist with daily activities of clients
• Lead and facilitate day-to-day activities, such as transportation
• Provide training of new staff
• To transport clients for admission, discharge, medical appointment, etc.
• To provide orientation to new clients and check in personal property.
• Will provide for the safety of the clients by monitoring their whereabouts by making rounds including all
areas described in the Program Abuse Prevention Plan and overnight bed checks.
• Complete a DAANES reports as directed.
• Interact with clients whenever possible.
• Attend shift change report meetings.
• Chart interaction with clients and observations made in client’s record.
• Attend staff meetings and In-service trainings.
• Distribute medications and other duties as directed and as assigned by Nurse Manager.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Paraprofessionals may not admit, transfer, or discharge clients. They may be directed to follow through
with the process of implementation of the above by the director or designee. Required Skills REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS  
Education:  

• Must know and understand the implication of parts 9530.6405 to 9530.6505 (Rule 31), and Minnesota Statutes, chapter 245A (Human Services Licensing Act-HSLA), sections 626.556 (Maltreatment of Minors Act-MOMA), 626.557 (Vulnerable Act-VAA), and 626.5572 (VAA definitions). 

Licenses / Certifications:  

• TMA Certification 

• Valid Driver’s License 

• CPR/First Aid

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:  

• A minimum of two-year freedom from chemical abuse problems 

• On-going training on of cultural awareness and demonstration of sensitivity to various cultural norms and values. 

• Computer literate. 

• 18 years of age or older 

• The ability to work independently 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS  

• Strong verbal skills and ability to communicate with a variety of people from diverse cultures, socioeconomic and educational backgrounds. 

• Flexibility to meet a variety of changing priorities 

• Computer skills to draft emails, memos, and reporting 

PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:  

• Social Security Verification: Name must match Social Security number and date of birth 
• Criminal Background Check: Nationwide, federal, state, and multi-county (up to 7 years) 
• Drug and Alcohol Testing: Must pass pre-employment screening; subject to random and post-incident testing if in a safety-sensitive role 
• Employment Verification 
• Education Verification 
• Department of Human Services clearance
• Motor Vehicle Driving Record review if necessary 

WORKING CONDITIONS / WORKING REQUIREMENTS  
Physical Requirements:  

• Sitting: Up to 2 hours 

• Standing: Up to 8 hours per day 

• Walking: Frequent 

• Travel: Ability to drive a vehicle continuously up to 3 hours 

• Driving: 15 passenger cans, average 2-4 hours per day, up to 8 hours per day 

• Lift and move objects weighing a minimum of 25 pounds 

• Reaching: 2 hours per day 

• Bending and Squatting: 10% 

• Stair climbing: 20% 

• Cleared Mantoux Screen 

  Work Environment:  

• Work is performed across multiple EOSIS treatment sites or intake settings 
• Fast-paced healthcare environment with varying program structures 
• Frequent interaction with clients experiencing substance use and mental health challenges 
• Requires flexibility to support multiple programs, locations, and changing priorities
