BartenderThe Bartender is responsible for providing timely, accurate and friendly service while preparing the highest quality beverages for our guests. Each Bartender's primary objective is to show our guests such a marvelous time, they will want to return.Essential Duties/ResponsibilitiesReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Assist in planning bar menus, create recipes of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks consistent with the restaurant's goals or based on customers'Stock, arrange and maintain bottles and glasses in an attractive and functional manner to support efficient drink preparation, promotion of beverages, and attractive displays.Present drink menus, make recommendations, and answer questions regarding beverages.Check identification of guests to verify age requirements for purchase ofAttempt to limit problems and liability related to guests' excessive drinking by taking steps such as persuading guests to stop drinking, and/or ordering taxis or other transportation for intoxicatedRecord drink orders accurately, accept guest payment, process credit card charges, and make change ifBalance cashAttend all scheduled employee meetings and offers suggestions forFill-in for fellow employees where needed to ensure guest service standards and efficient operations arePerforms cleaning duties, such as sweeping and mopping floors, vacuuming carpet, tidying up server station, taking out trash, or checking and cleaning bathrooms.Job Qualifications Working ConditionsKnowledge, Skills, and Ability:Promote, work, and act In a manner consistent with the mission of The MetropolitanKnowledge of liquor laws to serve alcohol responsibly.Experienced and comfortable with working busyDemonstrated ability to show up to work on time and meeting appropriate hygiene and attire standards.Understanding and knowledge of food preparation andKnowledge of the proper and safe use of bartending tools andFriendly, outgoing and dedicated to outstanding customerDetailed-oriented and passionate about product quality.Excellent communication skills both verbally andAbility to communicate and collaborate with team members to ensure superior results and teamAbility to up-sell and cross-sell to customers to meet the customer's interest andEducation or Formal Training:High school diploma or General equivalency diploma (GED)Alcohol Seller/Server Certification (bartender license)Experience :At least one (1) or more year as a bartender is required.A minimum of two (2) years of experience in the customer service industry (in addition to bartending experience) is required.An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted on a year to yearbasis.Additional Requirements/Licenses/Certifications:Must have reliableMust be old enough to serve alcohol legally in the State of Wyoming.Working Environment:The work environment can be loud and busy. There are many kitchen/bar hazards such as hot surfaces and liquids, sharp knives, and slippery floors. This position regularly requires long hours and weekend work. No travel is expected for this position.Physical Activities :These ore representative of those which must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this Job.The employee is required to stand for long periods as well as walk, bend and stoop. The position requires working taste buds, ability to smell, feel with fingers and visually Inspect, Including close and distance vision. The position requires ability to use arms, hands and manipulate fingers to reach, stir, measure, pour, cut, chop, dice, decorate, and similar.
