Automotive Electrical Technician

divh2Job Title/h2pThis position is responsible for diagnosing electrical system circuit faults and repairing electrical wiring to OEM standards, diagnosing problems with all vehicle electrical systems, repairing damaged electrical parts, and maintaining electrical repair equipment for an automotive manufacturer./ph3Responsibilities/h3ulliProvide weekday and some weekend on-site vehicle repair or repair person mentoring/coaching at an OEM vehicle assembly facility: shift hours could be 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift (team has a schedule rotation, schedule to change based on assigned rotation)/liliDiagnose electrical issues and execute a course of action/liliProvide on-site leadership with estimated time for repairs/liliRepair and/or replace faulty wiring, connectors, or electrical systems/liliInstall new vehicle wiring systems per OEM standards/liliRepair and troubleshoot immobilizer and alarm systems/liliService of electrical automotive parts/liliService and repair electrical systems on new OEM vehicles/liliMaintain a clean working environment/liliComplete job reports and processing paperwork/liliInstruct and guide other repair personnel to improve their understanding of vehicle electrical systems and subsystems/liliPresent and demonstrate efficient and effective methods of diagnosing and correcting vehicle electrical systems and sub-system deficiencies/liliConduct root cause analysis to accurately identify the cause(s) of vehicle deficiencies/liliAct as a Subject Matter Expert for other repair personnel by providing interpretation of vehicle electrical system architectures and schematics/liliCommunicate and share lessons learned with site leadership and other repair personnel on a timely basis/liliTravel occasionally required (as needed) to work sites in other states/li/ulh3Requirements/h3ulliMinimum of 5 years experience as an electrical repair technician/liliAdvanced knowledge of modern vehicular electrical systems/liliAbility to work in confined vehicle spaces/liliComplex problem-solving skills/liliGood communication skills/liliAbility to work standing or in a crouched position for long periods/liliAbility to distinguish subtle color variations/liliDemonstrated knowledge of automotive systems from an advanced diagnostics perspective/liliAbility to read and interpret a digital multimeter, OEM diagnostic scan tool and other automotive related diagnostic test equipment/liliAbility to effectively conduct one-on-one and small group discussions/liliAbility to interpret early engineering level electrical schematic diagrams/liliAbility to work independently without supervision/liliValid Drivers License/li/ulh3Preferred/h3ulliASE certifications/liliExperience as a shop foreman or lead technician/liliAutomotive electrical schematic development experience/liliAutomotive Technical Assistance Center Experience/li/ulh3Education/h3ulliAssociates Degree or Certificate in Automotive Technology, engineering or other related discipline./li/ulpWe offer attractive, competitive compensation and benefits including, medical, dental, 401k, short-term disability, ADD, tuition reimbursement, and more.
