Senior AccountantCSI Sands (N.E.) operates state-of-the-art processing facilities to produce industrial silica sand products in Brevort, MI, Buffalo, NY and Cleveland, OH.We are currently searching for a Senior Accountant to be based in Calgary, Alberta and to complement our team in Buffalo, NY. The Senior Accountant will play a key role in day-to-day accounting, month-end close, financial reporting, and control activities for CSI Sands (N.E.) and will be an integral part of a fast-paced production environment.Reporting to the Director, Accounting and Finance, with a matrix reporting line to the General Manager, the Senior Accountant will be responsible for:Preparing timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and supporting schedulesLeading month-end and year-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations, variance analysis, and review of the general ledgerManaging day-to-day accounting activities, including:accounts payable and accounts receivablecash receipts, disbursements, banking, and credit card reconciliationspurchase order review and expenditure codingMaintaining fixed asset records and supporting capital expenditure accountingSupporting inventory accounting, costing, cycle counts, and reconciliations to ensure accurate reportingPreparing audit working papers and coordinating information required for the year-end auditPreparing and supporting annual regulatory, tax, and other required filingsMaintaining accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls and recommending process improvementsProviding accurate financial information and accounting support in response to ad hoc requests from internal stakeholdersLeading, supporting, and overseeing a team of accounting administrators to ensure accurate and timely completion of day-to-day accounting activitiesSkills and Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related fieldCertified Public Accountant (CPA) designation would be an assetMinimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including hands-on responsibility for month-end close, financial reporting, and account reconciliationsExperience in a manufacturing or industrial setting is preferred; experience in the trucking industry would be considered an assetExperience with inventory accounting, costing, and reconciliationAdvanced Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with accounting or ERP systems is preferredStrong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with close attention to detailExcellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across operationsAbility to organize priorities, meet reporting deadlines, and work independently with minimal supervisionA proactive, hands-on approach with a commitment to accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvementWe encourage all who are qualified and interested to apply in confidence; however, only those in consideration will be contacted.#ZR
