Registered Nurse (RN) - MS/Tele

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse to join our Neuroscience Med/Surg unit. This position is focused on adult and geriatric patients and requires a commitment to providing high-quality care in a fast-paced environment.

Shift Information

• Shift: 18:45 - 07:15 (3x12 Hour Shifts)
• Weekend Coverage: Every Other

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients with complex medical and surgical needs, including stroke, respiratory failure, and other acute conditions.
• Administer medications and treatments as per established protocols using the Omnicell medication system.
• Monitor and assess patient conditions and report significant changes to the healthcare team.
• Participate in care planning and contribute to the multidisciplinary team approach to patient care.
• Provide education to patients and families regarding health management and recovery.
• May be floated to other units based on patient care needs and individual skill set.

Patient Population

• Adult and geriatric patients
• Common diagnoses: Stroke/TIA, Seizures, Syncope, Pneumonia, Chest Pain, Dialysis, Acute Kidney Failure, Post Heart Catheterization, Respiratory Failure, Encephalopathy, Congestive Heart Failure (CHF), Sepsis

Qualifications

• Current active RN license in Tennessee
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a nursing role, with at least 1 year of EPIC experience required
• Current certifications in ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS

Special Procedures/Unit Details

• This unit specializes in providing inpatient care for stroke and TIA patients, as well as managing higher acuity med-surg patients.
• Focus on patient experience and quality of care.
• Capability to perform peritoneal dialysis and continuous bladder irrigation.
