To thrive/succeed as the Director of Finance, you should have:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field; CPA or advanced degree preferred.
• Eight to ten or more years of progressive accounting and financial management experience.
• Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), budgeting, financial reporting, and internal controls.
• Experience managing audits, month-end close processes, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Demonstrated success managing nonprofit accounting, grants, restricted funds, and donor-designated resources preferred.
• Experience improving processes, implementing controls, and leveraging technology to enhance finance operations.
• Exceptional analytical, organizational, communication, and leadership skills.

Your responsibilities as the Director of Finance will include:

• Lead all financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, compliance, and financial systems.
• Bring outsourced accounting and reporting functions in-house and establish sustainable workflows and controls.
• Manage and develop the finance team while ensuring timely and accurate financial operations.
• Oversee financial reporting, account reconciliations, cash management, accounts payable, payroll, and general ledger activities.
• Direct annual budgeting and long-range financial planning efforts.
• Monitor restricted funds, grants, pledges, and donor-designated contributions to ensure compliance and proper reporting.
• Coordinate annual audits and serve as the primary liaison with external auditors.
• Strengthen internal controls, financial policies, and financial compliance programs.
• Improve accounting systems, reporting tools, and technology integration, including AI-driven process enhancements.
• Partner with organizational leadership to support strategic decision-making and institutional priorities.
