RN - PCU Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 1 year of PCU/IMC experience within the last 3 years License: NY license required in hand to submit Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Must have PCU/IMC experience within the last 3 years. Must have the ability to float to corresponding units. Description:Mixed acuity unit with PCU, Med-Surg Telemetry, and Medical-Surgical patients.Ratios adjusted based on patient acuity.Traveler experience accepted; first-timers are welcome.Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility.Scrubs: any solid color.Daily patient ratios range from 1:3 to 1:7, depending on shifts and acuity.Candidates may be floated to sister units as needed.The unit handles surgical pre and post-operative care, including ENT, general surgery, trauma surgery, and orthopedic surgery.Rare pediatric patients may be encountered, but travelers will not be assigned unless experienced.Special procedures such as TCAR are preferred.Unit systems include EPIC for medication and documentation.Support services are provided by interdisciplinary teams, including physical therapy and pharmacy.Candidates must have experience with telemetry, interpretation of dysrhythmias, management of dysrhythmias, IV insulin protocols, and central line care.Other necessary skills include managing cardiac drips, medication administration, and wound care.Isolation precautions and emergency protocols are also essential in this role. #J-18808-Ljbffr Cynet HealthStaff
