Radiology Technologist

Location: New Rochelle, New York

Work Shift: Night (12AM–8AM), alternate work schedule. Hourly Rate: $39.05.

Job Summary

Under the direction of a radiologist and supervision of the Chief Technologist, the Radiologic Technologist performs CT, radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures at a technical level that requires independent judgment. The technologist applies prescribed ionizing radiation for imaging diagnosis and educates patients on the procedures.

Responsibilities

• Patient and room preparation: identify patients with at least two identifiers, practice AIDET, enter patient data into RIS, and position the patient on the scan table correctly.
• Choose the correct protocol for the body part, obtain the scout image, recognize normal and abnormal pathology, and acquire high‑quality cross‑sectional images for the radiologist’s diagnosis.
• Assist the radiologist during procedures, maintain continuous attention in the control room, and monitor the progression of biopsy procedures.
• Prepare IV contrast syringes aseptically; post‑process scan data, including retrospective, coronal, MIP, and sagittal reformats.
• Maintain records of consent, metiformin, pregnancy verification forms, and adhere to radiation safety regulations.
• Conduct quality improvement activities, perform terminal cleaning, maintain a cleaning log, and monitor equipment performance.
• Correlate x‑rays, lab results, and other clinical data; practice SBAR; and follow downtime procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; Associate of Science preferred.
• Registered Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) certification required; injection qualification required.
• Certification by the ARRT (CT) required.
• Experience with radiographic exposure equipment preferred.
