Hours of Work: 40 hours per week (part-time and flexible arrangements may be considered)

Compensation: Starting at $60 per hour, commensurate with experience

Position Summary

\n

MyFriendBen is seeking a State Director of Partnerships in New Jersey to build partnerships and lead outreach efforts that increase awareness and usage of MyFriendBen, a free online tool that helps New Jersey residents check their eligibility for public benefits in 6 minutes.

\n

In this role, you will build and maintain meaningful partnerships with organizations across the state and lead strategic outreach efforts that increase awareness and usage of MyFriendBen. This is a metrics-driven role with the opportunity to shape how we expand access to public benefits and tax credits for New Jersey residents.

\n

The New Jersey Director of Partnerships is someone who is strategic, relationship-driven, and proactive - a leader who can see the big picture while also executing day-to-day outreach and engagement with care and consistency.

About MyFriendBen

\n

MyFriendBen is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to helping people access the public benefits available to them. Our free online tool allows users to quickly and anonymously check their potential eligibility for programs such as food assistance, health coverage, tax credits, and child care support. By simplifying complex systems and partnering with trusted community organizations, MyFriendBen helps more individuals and families connect to resources that support their health and financial stability.

What You’ll Do Engagement Strategy (30%)\n

\n
• Initiate, build, and maintain strong partnerships with community organizations, agencies, and trusted messengers across New Jersey
\n
• Lead and execute outreach strategies that increase MyFriendBen usage across the state
\n
• Identify new partnership opportunities and creative ways to reach residents who may benefit from the tool
\n
• Track outreach activities and performance metrics to evaluate and improve impact
\n
• Work directly with the MyFriendBen team to share insights from the field and strengthen our approach
\n
• Represent MyFriendBen in meetings, trainings, and events across New Jersey
\n

\n

Community Activation (35%)\n

\n
• Support partners in integrating MyFriendBen into their outreach and client services
\n
• Lead trainings and presentations that help organizations confidently use and share MyFriendBen
\n
• Develop simple outreach materials and messaging that help partners promote the tool
\n
• Coordinate campaigns, events, and initiatives that increase community awareness of MyFriendBen
\n
• Help identify and elevate stories of impact that demonstrate how MyFriendBen is helping residents
\n

\n

Partnerships and External Presence (35%)\n

\n
• Serve as a key ambassador for MyFriendBen across New Jersey
\n
• Build relationships with state agencies, nonprofit coalitions, and community leaders
\n
• Participate in statewide conversations and initiatives related to public benefits access and economic mobility
\n
• Maintain a strong understanding of New Jersey benefit programs and policy developments that impact residents
\n
• Help strengthen MyFriendBen’s visibility and credibility among partners and stakeholders
\n

\n

What We’re Looking For \n

\n
• Full-time position (part time and alternative options available) based in New Jersey
\n
• 3–5 years of experience in outreach, partnerships, community engagement, nonprofit programs, or related work
\n
• Outcomes based individual that can manage connected priorities of ambitious growth and deep partnerships
\n
• Highly motivated and strategic thinker, with a high degree of initiative and self-discipline
\n
• Strong relationship builder who enjoys connecting with people and organizations
\n
• Highly organized and attentive to process and follow-through
\n
• Goal-oriented and comfortable working toward clear metrics and outcomes
\n
• Creative thinker who can identify new opportunities for outreach and engagement
\n
• Experience working with community organizations, government programs, or benefits access efforts is a plus
\n
