Customer Service Representative

Overview Facilitate the communication of information between Vessel Operations Management, the Captain/Pilot of the vessel, the Maintenance department representatives, Schedulers, other Sales Department representatives, Customer Dock representatives and third-party providers for services such as shore tankering and spot horsepower. Record events and prepare scheduled reports. Responsibilities Answer incoming phone calls. Attend daily meetings as required. Review traffic for status, accuracy, and report any potential problems to the appropriate department. Confirm trip requirements are met. Coordinate and hire shore tankering services, as directed by the Captain/Pilot or Scheduler, through approved outside vendors (as required). Schedule barges as directed. Document all pertinent trip information and complete reports and written turnover plans for shift relief. Coordinate trip requirements including but not limited to Communicate delays to Sales and customers. Monitor heating orders. Ensure appropriate traffic is correctly entered into Oasis. Assess all criteria to determine shore tankermen service. All other duties as assigned. Qualifications Follow procedures and verbal/written instructions. Organized, detail-oriented and accurate. Self-motivated and multi-task oriented. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to operate standard office equipment such as a personal computer. Identify and review upcoming requirements (orders). Education: High school diploma or formal training required; college degree preferred. Experience: 1 year of logistics or maritime experience preferred. Working Conditions: 12-hour shifts 7on/7off ( 0300 – 1500 or 1500 – 0300) #J-18808-Ljbffr Kirby-Corporation
