Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Operating Room position at a Magnet-designated, Level II Trauma hospital in Alaska, requiring 2 years of OR experience and an active AK RN license.

Details

• Work setting is a 407-bed acute care hospital that is a Magnet Facility, Level II Trauma Center, and USNWR Best Hospital in Alaska
• Operating Room unit
• 13-week contract
• Schedule is 3x12-hour day shifts; shift start times vary between 6:45 AM–7:15 PM or 9:00 AM–9:30 PM
• Weekends required
• On-call is limited to coverage for call-offs only
• Floating to like units may be required to meet facility needs
• Charting via Epic (required)
• Scrubs are provided by the facility
• Free parking on-site

Requirements

• Active Alaska (AK) RN license required; pending license accepted for consideration but must be in hand for offer
• Certifications required: BLS; ACLS and CNOR are preferred
• Minimum 2 years of OR RN experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty or setting
• Full SSN and DOB required for consideration
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this position

Additional Information

• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates are not accepted
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must also meet the 50-mile radius requirement
• All travelers may be expected to float between facilities within Alaska; refusal to float may result in termination of assignment
• RTO is approved on an individual basis and must be disclosed upfront; minimal RTO is strongly preferred for this position
• Block scheduling is not available for this assignment
