Desired Qualifications:

• Possess an EIPA score of 3.5 or higher, demonstrating proficiency
• Certification and/or state licensure as required by local regulations
• Prior experience interpreting in K-12 schools preferred
• Strong understanding of Deaf culture and ability to adjust interpreting strategies for various age groups
• Professionalism, discretion, and respect for student privacy
• Ability to thrive in diverse, fast-paced academic settings
• Commitment to continuing education and growth in sign language fluency

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide interpreting services for students in classroom, extracurricular, and meeting settings
• Accurately facilitate communication between students, faculty, and peers using American Sign Language
• Support teachers and staff with strategies to promote inclusion and participation
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in all interpreting situations
• Respond to daily schedule variations and adapt to evolving student needs
