In this position you will assist the System Administrators with installing and maintaining network infrastructure components including but not limited to workstations, printers, and telephone system. The Help Desk Technician will work as part of a team as well as independently to troubleshoot complex problems and to determine and implement appropriate solutions with little supervision or assistance. To be successful in this role, you will need to be familiar with current technology standards and ongoing knowledge of technical trends within the industry to make recommendations for change where appropriate. This position is 100% on-site and located in King George, VA.SCCI offers a comprehensive and competitive benefits package including Health, Dental, Vision, Life and Disability benefits, 401k with Company Match, time off consisting of 2 weeks of paid vacation, 48 hours of sick/personal leave, and 11 paid Holidays.ResponsibilitiesTroubleshoot, install, configure and maintain workstation and associated peripheral configurations (hardware and software)Perform IT equipment moves for current employees and new hiresMonitor and report client-level computer system performanceAdminister accounts, network rights, and access to systems and equipmentPerform and complete New Hire and Departure Checklist IT TasksBaseline reclaimed and new IT systems in accordance with established procedures and guidelinesBe able to enter, update, track and close out all assigned support ticketsAssists with the administration and maintenance of the telephone system, including setup and configuration of phone extensions and telephones, and the telephone databaseAssist with Dell warranty part replacementsTrack software licenses and physical assetsAnalyze and resolve end user hardware and software computer problems in a timely and accurate fashion, and provide end-user training where requiredIT equipment disposal, as neededOther duties, as assignedQualificationsEssential Skills and Experience:Must be a U.S. Citizen and be able to obtain and maintain an active Secret Security ClearanceHigh School DiplomaKnowledge of current Office 365 Suite, Intune management, Windows Server technologies, Active Directory and Group Policy administrationAbility to communicate and problem-solve individually as well as in a team environmentExcellent organizational & time-management skillsStrong customer service and communication skillsBasic understanding of networking, including TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCPKnowledge of Windows 11 Professional baseline configuration processesAbility to work under stressful conditions and maintain a professional demeanor and rapport with end users at all timesMust be able to lift 50+ lbs on occasionPreferred Skills and Experience:1 to 3 years experience in a system administration position preferredAny or all of the following certifications: CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+Associate or Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or relevant fieldKnowledgeable with Fortinet firewall devicesBasic PowerShell scripting knowledgeVMware/Hyper-V Virtual Machine administrationSCCI is committed to providing a comprehensive and competitive benefits package to meet the needs of employees and their families.
