Certified Surgical Coding Specialist

To ensure proper coding compliance and documentation accuracy, the full-time Certified Surgical Coding Specialist will assign diagnosis and procedure codes based on medical documentation while working remotely. Key responsibilities Assign appropriate ICD-10 and CPT/HCPCS codes to patient encounters based on medical documentation Ensure compliance with coding guidelines from the AMA, CMS, and other regulatory bodies Participate in coding audits and maintain accurate records of coding activities Required qualifications High School Diploma or Equivalent required; Associate's Degree in Medical Billing and Coding preferred Certified Professional Coder credential from the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) preferred 3-5 years of medical coding experience required In-depth knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems Strong understanding of coding guidelines and regulations
