Job Title: Quality Inspector
Job Description
The Quality Inspector performs detailed in-process inspections of sheet metal parts in a high-volume manufacturing environment. This role focuses on verifying that welds, punched holes, angles, and bend allowances meet blueprint specifications, using precision measuring tools and clear documentation to ensure consistent product quality.
Responsibilities
Perform in-process inspections of sheet metal parts throughout the production cycle.
Inspect welds, punched holes, angles, bends, and bend allowances to ensure they meet required specifications.
Compare parts to blueprints and technical drawings to verify dimensions and tolerances.
Use calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring tools to measure and validate parts.
Inspect both finished parts and in-process parts on the assembly line.
Document inspection results accurately and clearly, following established procedures.
Identify nonconforming parts and communicate findings to appropriate production or quality personnel.
Support continuous production by performing timely inspections to minimize delays and rework.
Work effectively in an assembly line and production setting, maintaining a steady workflow.
Follow all safety and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements while on the production floor.
Participate in on-site interviews and plant tours, demonstrating understanding of grinding, assembly line work, and overtime expectations.
Show motivation and interest in long-term growth opportunities within the organization.
Essential Skills

Hands-on experience with calipers and micrometers for precision measurement.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
Background in quality inspection within a manufacturing setting.
Experience inspecting sheet metal parts, including welds, bends, and holes.
Ability to inspect both finished and in-process sheet metal parts.
Familiarity with using inspection tools and methods appropriate for sheet metal components.
Ability to stand for 10-hour shifts and work in a fast-paced production environment.
Comfort working on an assembly line and in a production setting.
Strong attention to detail and ability to document inspection findings accurately.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Sheet metal inspection experience preferred.
Experience with CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) is a plus.
Interest in advancing skills in areas such as welding or engineering through company-supported education.
Willingness to work mandatory overtime with advance notice when required.
Comfort with grinding and related fabrication processes.
Motivation for long-term employment and growth within a large manufacturing organization.
Why Work Here?
This opportunity offers a strong pathway for skill development, career growth, and increased earnings. Individuals who perform well and maintain good attendance receive a pay increase after 90 days and become eligible for additional raises and shift differentials after direct hire. The organization provides substantial overtime opportunities, including voluntary Sunday work that can be paid at double time when certain conditions are met. Once hired directly, employees can access company-sponsored education to pursue advancement in areas such as welding or engineering, making this role especially valuable for those looking to build a long-term career in manufacturing.
Work Environment
The role is based in a very clean, large-scale manufacturing facility that spans multiple buildings. The environment is an assembly line and production setting with a focus on sheet metal fabrication and inspection. The facility is not air-conditioned, so candidates should be comfortable working in varying temperatures. The campus operates as a smoke-free environment, with no designated smoking areas and no leaving the campus during paid breaks. Shifts are structured across multiple schedules, including first, second, third, and weekend shifts, with occasional Saturdays and mandatory overtime as needed and communicated in advance. Personal protective equipment is required, including steel-toed boots, eye protection, and ear protection, but no physical exam, medical clearance, certifications, or forklift operation are required.
