TravelNurseSource is working with United Health Care Staffing, Inc. to find a qualified ICU/Critical Care RN in Lufkin, Texas, 75901!

Contract Type:  Contract

Shift Type:  Rotating 12-hour shifts, days (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM) and nights (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM), 4 shifts per week, every other weekend

Hours per Week: 36

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide critical care to patients in the ICU and PCU, managing complex conditions such as sepsis, DKA, and respiratory failure
• Titrate and monitor vasoactive drips including Levophed, amiodarone, heparin, and propofol
• Collaborate with intensivists, hospitalists, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Float between ICU and PCU units as needed, adapting to varying patient acuities and ratios
• Perform comprehensive assessments, interpret telemetry, and respond to changes in patient status
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans and discharge instructions

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of critical care nursing principles and protocols
• Proficient in interpreting cardiac rhythms and telemetry
• Skilled in managing ventilators, BiPAP, and Airvo devices
• Excellent assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team

Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Minimum of 1 year critical care experience required
• Experience titrating drips and managing ventilators
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, floating environment
