PCC - Complex Scheduler

Job Title Performs advanced and time intensive scheduling tasks to support complex surgeries and/or imaging and procedures outside of current clinic such as hospital or OP radiology center. Job Description The job involves performing advanced scheduling tasks for complex surgeries and procedures outside of the current clinic, such as hospital or OP radiology center. To be defined as advanced and time intensive, 75% or more of the employee's time must be spent completing cases performed in an ambulatory surgery center or inpatient setting, coordination of multiple specialties, coordination of pre-operation and post-operation testing/clearance. The role also includes coordinating complex, sequential treatment appointments including clinical trials and standard of care patients. It involves serving as the primary point of care for transplant related work-up and evaluations for donors and patients. Additional duties may include scheduling return visits, scheduling ancillary appointments, registering or scheduling new patients, scheduling imaging and procedures within their local clinic, completing patient data forms, coordinating provider referrals, retrieving medical records, acting as an administrative resource for all staff in the coordination of a patient's care, working collaboratively with management to remedy or escalate patient complaints, covering for front desk and other back-office staff as needed, providing support for the training of new PCCs and other administrative staff as needed, and completing precertification authorizations as required. Other duties as assigned. Minimum Requirements High school diploma or GED required; 6 months of healthcare scheduling experience is required. A successful candidate will possess the following competencies and skills: problem-solving ability, ability to provide a high level of customer service, excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, ability to work in a team environment, time management skills, empathy for others. Physical Requirements Physical requirements include lifting up to 50 lbs max, carrying of objects up to 25 lbs, occasional to frequent standing & walking, occasional sitting, close eye work (computers, typing, reading, writing). Physical demands may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks. Environmental Factors Environmental factors may include blood-borne pathogen exposure, bio-hazardous waste, chemicals/gases/fumes/vapors, communicable diseases, electrical shock, floor surfaces, hot/cold temperatures, indoor/outdoor conditions, latex, lighting, patient care/handling injuries, radiation, shift work, travel may be required. Use of personal protective equipment, including respirators, environmental conditions may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks.
