Referral Coordinator (Pharmacy)

Job Summary Our client is seeking a diligent and organized Referral Coordinator. The primary responsibilities include accepting referrals, reviewing order completeness, entering patient information into systems, and verifying prescriber credentials. Key Responsibilities Accept referrals from hospitals, physician offices, case managers, and discharge planners Review orders for completeness (drug, dose, frequency, duration) Enter patient demographics and insurance information into the system Verify prescriber credentials and documentation Preferred Skills Background in pharmacy is highly preferred Strong insurance knowledge (Medicare, Medicaid, commercial) Excellent communication skills Ability to work under discharge deadlines Attention to detail Understanding of infusion therapies (TPN, IV antibiotics, biologics, etc.) Additional Requirements Work schedule: 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday Benefits Paid Sick Leave (Medix provides paid sick leave according to state and local sick leave ordinances).
