Role Overview

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is the visionary leader of HubSpot, responsible for guiding the company's global strategy, scaling its operations, and continuing its trajectory as the premier CRM platform for scaling companies. The CEO will balance aggressive global revenue growth and product innovation with an unwavering commitment to HubSpot's renowned culture and customer-first philosophy. This leader will champion Product-Led Growth (PLG), drive our upmarket expansion, and empower our global ecosystem of partners, creators, and developers.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Vision & Ecosystem Growth

• Define and execute the long-term corporate strategy, expanding HubSpot's footprint beyond marketing to encompass the entire front-office CRM ecosystem (Sales, Service, CMS, Operations, and Commerce).
• Drive continuous innovation in Artificial Intelligence (HubSpot AI) and data integration to ensure the platform remains the most user-friendly and powerful tool for scaling businesses.
• Strengthen and expand the HubSpot ecosystem, including our vast network of solutions partners, app developers, and the HubSpot Academy community.

Go-to-Market (GTM) & Financial Performance

• Maintain ultimate accountability for company performance, driving Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR) growth, maximizing Net Revenue Retention (NRR), and ensuring sustainable profitability.
• Champion HubSpot's dual Go-to-Market strategy: optimizing our frictionless, product-led growth (freemium) funnel while simultaneously scaling enterprise sales capabilities to move upmarket.
• Oversee capital allocation, strategic M&A, and investor relations, acting as the primary communicator of HubSpot's financial health and strategic direction to Wall Street and shareholders.
• Act as the ultimate steward of the HubSpot Culture Code, modeling our HEART values in every decision and interaction.
• Lead a distributed, global workforce (remote, hybrid, and in-office), ensuring high employee engagement, psychological safety, and belonging across all levels of the organization.
• Prioritize diversity, equity, inclusion, and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) initiatives, ensuring HubSpot grows in a way that positively impacts our communities and the planet.

Customer Obsession & Thought Leadership

• Serve as the chief advocate for the customer, ensuring that "solving for the customer" remains the central thesis of our product and business strategies.
• Represent HubSpot on the global stage as a thought leader in inbound marketing, sales alignment, and the future of work (e.g., keynote speaking at INBOUND).

Basic Qualifications

• Experience: 15+ years of executive leadership experience, with at least 5 years serving in a C-suite capacity (CEO, President, or CRO/COO) at a high-growth, publicly traded B2B SaaS company.
• Scale: Proven track record of managing a global software organization with revenues exceeding $2B+ and scaling teams of over 5,000+ employees.
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Technology, or a related field.

• B2B SaaS & PLG Expertise: Deep operational understanding of the SaaS business model, Product-Led Growth funnels, and the specific dynamics of the SMB and mid-market segments.

• Exceptional Communicator: Elite storytelling and communication skills, capable of inspiring thousands of employees internally and captivating massive audiences of customers and partners externally.
