Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 23-bed Medical Surgical unit with a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio during night shift hours
• Care for patients presenting with conditions including stroke/neuro, CAPD, congestive heart failure, COVID, and cardiovascular/cath patients
• Accurately document all patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes using EPIC EMR
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to develop and implement individualized patient care plans
• Adhere to unit protocols, infection control standards, and safety procedures throughout each shift
• Fulfill holiday shift obligations as required by unit scheduling needs

Required Qualifications

• Active Iowa RN license or active Compact/Multistate RN license at time of submission
• Minimum 36 months of experience in Medical Surgical, IMCU, PCU, or Stepdown nursing
• Work history reflecting at least 24 months of current Med Surg, Telemetry, or Med/Tele experience
• Demonstrated proficiency with EPIC EMR
• Comfort caring for patients with stroke/neuro, cardiovascular/cath, COPD, congestive heart failure, and COVID diagnoses
• Active AHA or ARC BLS and ACLS certifications required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• NIHSS certification (strong certificate preferred; candidates may apply during onboarding if not yet obtained)
• Professional reference from a charge nurse, supervisor, nurse manager, director, CNO, or COO within the past 24 months
