Associate Data Engineer

Position Summary Associate Data Engineer – Woonsocket, RI for CVS Pharmacy, Inc., a CVS Health company. Responsibilities Develop large‑scale data structures, pipelines, and efficient ETL workflows to address complex problems and support business applications. Write ETL (Extract/Transform/Load) processes and design database systems for real‑time and offline analytics. Collaborate with Data Science to integrate algorithms and models into automated processes. Test, maintain, and troubleshoot data systems and pipelines. Leverage Hadoop, HDFS commands, and query optimization for pipeline development. Utilize Python, Java, or comparable languages for robust data pipelines and dynamic systems. Build data marts and models to support Data Science and other internal customers. Integrate data from multiple sources and enforce data quality and accessibility standards. Analyze current IT environments to recommend solutions for complex business problems. Evaluate new tools and advise on optimal solutions aligned with model/use‑case requirements. Qualifications Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Analytics, or related field. One (1) year of experience in the offered role or related occupation. One (1) year of experience in each area: CI/CD, Jenkins, GIT, or Java; Agile methodologies or SAFe; Spark, PySpark, or Scala; SDLC; relational database concepts; designing data models for analytics and reporting; big‑data implementation; writing ETL processes; and cloud technologies (Azure, AWS, or GCP). Strong programming skills in Python, Java, or similar languages. Experience with Hadoop architecture and HDFS commands. Compensation and Benefits Pay range: $130,832.00/year to $144,200.00/year. Compensation may include bonus, commission, and equity award components.
