Working on the news desk in London, you will break news on companies raising leveraged loans and bonds for M&A, refinancing and organic growth. This is not a deal pricing position - you will write in-depth stories on investor sentiment about new issuance and broader market trends. You will chronicle the push and pull between syndicated and private credit as borrowers and financial sponsors look to secure the best terms for financing, particularly for AI data centers, leveraged buyouts and refinancing maturing debt. Debtwire journalists are expected to use their own initiative to uncover leads from market sources at asset managers, law firms, banks and beyond, but also collaborate extensively with fellow reporters and analysts across Debtwire, Mergermarket and Infralogic globally to break news in a highly competitive space. While we provide extensive market training on the job, the ideal candidate will have at least one year of experience working at a financial news outlet or internships at top-tier publications. Candidates with experience working on Wall Street are also welcome to apply. Key Responsibilities: Drive to break news and deliver actionable intelligence on leveraged finance. An investigative mindset and good writing/editing skills. An understanding of fixed income markets, a strong grasp of and an interest in the broader financial and legal markets. Outstanding networking and contact building skills. Excellent time management and communication ability. A self-starter attitude with a cooperative approach.
