The Tumor-Infiltrating Lymphocyte (TIL) Therapy Nurse Coordinator serves as a consultant and liaison for patients and their families, collaborating closely with attending physicians, advanced practice providers, social workers, financial and administrative staff, inpatient and outpatient nursing teams, and community organizations. This position functions as the primary Nurse Coordinator for all patients undergoing Tumor-Infiltrating Lymphocyte (TIL) therapy.

The TIL Therapy Nurse Coordinator independently assesses patients and develops individualized pre-cellular therapy plans of care. This role provides specialized teaching, counseling, consultation, and nursing care throughout the treatment process. In collaboration with attending physicians, the coordinator evaluates patient suitability and eligibility for therapy, coordinates donor collection and cell processing activities, and facilitates recipient admissions across the continuum of care. The TIL Therapy Nurse Coordinator is also involved in developing standardized workflows, policies, and procedures for TIL and cellular therapy.

The TIL Therapy Nurse Coordinator is also responsible for supporting and ensuring compliance with applicable regulatory and quality agencies, including but is not limited to: standards and requirements established by AABB (Association for the Advancement of Blood & Biotherapies), FACT (Foundation for the Accreditation of Cellular Therapy), the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research (CBER), and The Joint Commission.

Autonomous nursing care is the ability of a nurse to assess and provide nursing actions as appropriate for patient care populations based on competence, professional expertise, and knowledge. The nurse is expected to practice autonomously consistent with ANA Standards of Practice and Professional Performance. Independent judgment is expected to be exercised within the context of interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary approaches to patient care.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current RN license issued by the State of California.
• BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to obtain BART within six (6) months of hire date.
• Three (3) years of recent nursing experience in oncology, hematology/oncology, blood and marrow transplant (BMT), cellular therapy, immunotherapy, or a related specialty.
• Demonstrated knowledge of cancer diagnosis and treatment, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and cellular therapy protocols.
• Demonstrated ability to recognize and appropriately manage oncologic emergencies.
• Demonstrated ability to provide comprehensive patient and caregiver education related to treatment, potential complications, symptom management, and follow-up care.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within an interdisciplinary team.
• Demonstrated experience with Tumor-Infiltrating Lymphocyte (TIL) Therapy.
• Must have positive stress-management, problem-solving, and coping skills in a fast-paced clinical environment.
• Excellent interpersonal, written, verbal, and telephone communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• BSN
• Oncology Nursing Certification (OCN)
• Experience in BMT, cellular therapy, immunotherapy, or other advanced cancer therapies.
• Experience coordinating complex oncology care, including clinical trials or multidisciplinary programs.

Special Conditions

• Must be able to work with vulnerable patients throughout their cancer journey.
• Must be able to work various hours, days, shifts, and various locations based on business needs.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $146,097 - $204,645 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $69.97 - $98.01

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
