Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Post Surgical Unit position requiring acute care surgical floor experience, with step-down/PCU experience required and ENT or transplant experience preferred.

Details

• Hospital-based Post Surgical Unit (Med/Surg) setting
• Cares for pre- and post-surgical inpatients, including patients with new drains, wounds, trachs, ostomies, NGT, and DHT
• Some step-down level patients are cared for on this unit
• Patient ratios are 5:1 for surgical patients and 3:1 for step-down patients
• Day shift, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hours/week)
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active OK RN license or current multistate compact (eNLC) RN license required
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
• Acute care surgical floor experience required
• Step-down/PCU experience required
• ENT and/or transplant experience preferred
• Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
• OR (operating room) candidates will not be considered
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include administering medications, managing IV infusions and blood products, monitoring physiological data, and documenting patient responses to nursing interventions
• Collaborates with physicians during patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
• Delegates tasks to support staff and makes referrals to appropriate personnel as needed
• Engages patients and families in care planning throughout the hospital stay and at discharge
• Full date of birth (DOB) will be required for candidate consideration
• Candidates who have previously worked at this facility must have a 6-month separation period before being eligible to apply for a new contract (after a maximum of 26 weeks/one extension)
• Compliance with onboarding requirements (drug screens, background checks, medical requirements) is strict and non-negotiable — candidates must be prepared to begin the process immediately upon acceptance
