Job Requirements / Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Physician Assistant (PA or PA-C) in a hospital or neurosurgery setting - neurosurgical experience preferred
• Board certification required
• Valid Physician Assistant license in California (California PA licensure)
• Advanced practice certification or equivalent credential
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
• Fellowship in relevant specialty preferred (neurosurgery or related surgical fellowship)

Primary Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive perioperative and inpatient neurosurgical patient care in a hospital environment
• Perform patient assessments, pre-operative evaluations, and post-operative management for neurosurgery patients
• Assist surgeons in the operating room and perform intraoperative duties as appropriate for a neurosurgical PA
• Manage post-op rounds, order and interpret diagnostic studies, and coordinate discharge planning
• Collaborate closely with neurosurgeons, nurses, anesthesia, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic medical record and adhere to hospital policies and compliance standards
• Participate in departmental meetings, quality improvement initiatives, and patient-safety activities
