Are you passionate about food and thrive in a fast-paced kitchen environment? Henhouse Café, in Mesa, AZ, is looking for an experienced and dependable Prep Lead Cook to join our team. If you’re organized, self-motivated, and ready to take the lead in food preparation, we’d love to hear from you!

As our Prep Lead Cook, you’ll play a key role in ensuring our kitchen runs smoothly and consistently.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing and portioning food according to Henhouse Café recipes and standards.
• Following recipes accurately and understanding measurements.
• Managing daily prep lists and prioritizing tasks to stay on track.
• Maintaining proper portion sizes and ensuring consistency in every dish.
• Following FIFO (First In, First Out) procedures for food storage.
• Labeling, dating, rotating, and properly storing all prepared food.
• Keeping prep areas clean, organized, and fully stocked.
• Working efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen.
• Ensuring all prep is completed accurately and on time.

• A minimum of 2 years of kitchen/prep experience .
• Strong time-management and organizational skills.
• The ability to follow recipes and measurements with precision.
• Experience with food prep, portioning, and proper storage techniques.
• Knowledge of FIFO procedures and safe food handling practices.
• The ability to multitask and work with a sense of urgency.
• Dependability and the ability to work independently.
• A self-starter attitude with the initiative to identify and complete tasks without constant direction.
